How
Wireless Benefits Your Business
 |
|
The
benefits of Wireless technology go beyond the freedom to work any
time, anywhere:
Lower cost of ownership
Investment protection
Industry standard solutions
Better access
Flexibility
Scalability
Eliminate cable installation expenses. Wireless
equipment works in areas you can't reach with cables, and goes with
you when you move.
Wireless equipment is modular and can be used and expanded as your
employee base and network grows.
Share files, printers, peripherals, and high-speed internet connections
easily.
Increase your security via firewall and data encryption technologies.

How
it Works
 |
|
Wireless
Local Area Networks use Access Points (much like a hub) to transmit
data via radio waves between the server and your PC or mobile device.
These waves can pass through floors, ceilings and around walls,
providing you with the flexibility to work almost anywhere in your
site.
Just like in a wired network, each PC or mobile device must be equiped
with an adapter or PC card. This allows your notebook, desktop,
handheld, etc. to receive the signals from the Access Points. |
LANs
and WANs
 |
There
are two types of Wireless networks:
Wireless LANs (WLAN)
Similar to traditional wired LANs, only Wireless LANs use radio
waves instead of cables and jacks.
Wireless WANs
A Wide Area Network provides out of the office mobility. Similar
to cell phone networks, Wireless WANs allow you to remain connected
and fully mobile.
